35.1mpg trip to austin
 
Drove 2006 kia sportage V6 from san Antonio to Austin yesterday:
45 psi
oversize tires
lower grill block
58mph (GPS)
(AMAZING TAIL WIND!!!!!) :eek:

got 28.1 coming back :(

Well, since it was 'wind aided' I don't want to take too much credit........

rarely is the wind blowing directly at my back on hwy 35.

Wicked tailwind can be awesome.

I remember being very excited to see 70+ mpg in the Firefly/Metro once, at the posted speed limit on one leg of a trip.

The best part is when you don't have to turn around and drive back into what is now a headwind. The BEST BEST part is when the tail wind switches 180 degrees to the opposite direction for the return trip the next day. :D

I've taken I10 with wind like that, but a headwind on the way west and a tailwind coming back. Had over 32 mpg in the Accord V6 through the Hill Country. :)
