39.7 mpg in my pickup!
Now it was only my 8.9 mile journey home from work, which is about 75% city, but I typically only average 31 mpg on this route.
I've been doing a lot of eoc in the city, but I've just begun doing pulse and glide on the longer freeway-like stretches, and it has really paid off! Also, thought of a good one for the "you know you're an ecomodder" thread: Ykyaem when you find yourself spending a lot time looking for the clear lane BEHIND you |
Good work! My best is 45.5 on my commute home, which is about 47 miles. I would love to one day get home on less than 1 gallon of gas.

Wow that's a long commute. Your truck looks great btw. Pretty sure if I did a grill block and could lower the truck I'd see some numbers a little closer to yours.
Right now I'm using a soft bed cover, which I THINK is helping... (I got my instrumentation AFTER all the small changes I've made.) I know a hard cover would see much more gains. |
My, This tells much about engine-off-coasting as being very useful.

Yea! It's such a change from when I used to keep an eye out for the most empty lane ahead of me lol
:turtle: |
When you guys engine off coast, do you ever dump the clutch to start her back up?
|
Yea it's called bump starting.
I typically use 5th gear, all the way down to about 20mph. |
