600 miles!!!!

A goal I have had for a while is to get above 600 miles on a single tank and I finaly did it.

603 miles and 11.56 gallons for 52.2 mpg.

I usualy don't like running my car below 1/8 of a tank but I was so close to 600 miles I just kept going. Was kind of scared I would run out of gas as I pushed it a good 20 miles after the low gas light came on.

I don't think I'll be trying that again for awhile.

I don't ever want to run my tank that low again.
You will end up killing your fuel pump if you run low a lot and it starts sucking up air.

Also I doubt I'll be able to get 61 mpg out of a Cobalt. :P

Lol because of the problems I had when I started working on this car, it was ducking a good bit of air all the time. Remember, I don't have an in tank pump (yet), the injection pump is also a lift pump.

620 miles is a "metric kilotank"...if that gives you any motivation... (1000km)

Good going! As you get more familiar with your car, you'll learn how much reserve you have after the low fuel light goes on. I went 50 miles on my xB after its low fuel light went on, and still had 1.1 gal. left in my gas tank, according to what it took to refill it. So when I went for my 1000 km (621.37 mile) tank, I knew I had it when my low fuel light went on at 575 miles.
