92 civic lx sedan build

I've never gotten around to making a thread to show my car so here it is.

I drive a courier route about 220 miles per day currently.
Driving the same route everyday is nice for getting a routine down for hypermiling.

Although I aspire to have as awesome mods as others here that I drool over their cars I'm limited on time, skills and resources so this is my compromise of easy for me mods that I've done and am loving the mpg!

Here it is with steelies and 86 crx hubcaps

And current trim (the unpainted hood has since sun faded)

Since I bought the car wit 262k miles on it in at the end of the winter I have

Timing belt and water pump
Mpguino
50psi tires
Pennzoil synchromesh mt oil
No carpet and gutted trunk, removed sound deadening, some engine bay brackets, broken glovebox etc
Passenger mirror delete
AC delete (most of it)
Da9 Integra seats
Garden edging front lip
Grill block made from alum siding
Antenna delete
Trunk swap to remove spoiler
Manual steering rack swap
Replaced a lot of suspension to restore normal function
Alum rear control arms
Replaced the broken headlights from deer damage
Replaced oil pan
Replaced Pcv and added oil catch can
Replaced radiator
And I'm sure there's more I forgot but that's it in a nutshell, currently 279k miles

I was pulling 60+ mpg tanks but after a lot of downtime for repairs etc I am driving it regularly again and the best I can do is mid 50:mad: not sure what is causing this drop but my possible culprits are recent alignment, timing retardation because of pinging, wheel swap to vx wheel with tread on them Over bald with steelies and nice aero ish caps, a suspected dragging brake and possible something happened when it overheated:confused:

Tested the compression and was 190ish on all 4 cyl so I don't think I cooked the motor or head gasket by getting it hot

Well I pulled my front wheels and checked out my brakes and one of the slide pins were sticking on each side.

Can really tell the difference in coasting and my instant mpguino numbers are better

Filled up today and even with about 200 miles of brake dragging on that tank I'm back up to par!

Snapped a few pics

Here you can see my typical ricer modifications :p

Oil catch can to prevent detonation and pinging caused by burning oil, I didn't notice a difference but I'm sure it's not hurting. Hasn't caught much oil. The hose looks oily from the wrx it was on :p

For the warm air intake I was missing the part that you can flip around so I got one from the junkyard from a cx hatch and cut the end and fitted a piece of exhaust to extend it closer to the header

Bling bling dual core aluminum radiator was only 48$ shipped!

Above you can see my kill switch. I drilled the hole threw a cigarette burn/melted spot. Instead of hovering my hand holding a cigarette like the p/o I hover over the kill switch

And in this one you can see my custom rear seat. For the lower coushin I was able to just put the cover from the 2door da9 seat over my foam lower

For the main back part the integra was 2 independent pieces so I sewed them together and put over my 1 piece back.

The 2 L shaped piece are still brown and beautiful

What do you guys think?

AbramWagner 08-10-2015 05:38 PM

:confused::confused:

This baby has been getting me 60+ mpg haha

http://imageshack.com/a/img540/8059/pGPYlw.jpg

Had to replace my spark plug oil seals and got some new wires, the motor had developed a miss and had just got pretty bad

http://imageshack.com/a/img538/590/KrLPMy.jpg

I wiped some of the grime off the head but I didn't want to go crazy and dislodge chunks and have them cause problems

Nice looking car! Keep up the good work!

Would like to go alternator-less

Phase one led brake and signal lights

Removed the AC evaporator was full of yum yums from Texas I would guess.

Needed to do this plus the hole it used threw the firewall was how I ran battery terminals

Relocated battery (larger battery I had plus mine was stone dead)
Would like two nice big deep cycle battery's but this is what I have!!

I strongly suggest relocating the battery to the trunk. In the event of an accident, you dont want that battery flying around the cabin.

I was thinking about a crash with it.. I wanted to make a metal bracket.

Very nice mods!!!

Defiantly secure the battery down.

Did you get the miss-fire fixed with the new gasket?

The plug wires fixed the miss, I'm pretty sure the head gasket is fine.

Just feels like slight loss of power

I'm still not Hitting my numbers on the guido I was even though it's been perfect weather.

It's wierd it seems like it runs better sometimes when it feels like it.

I was Getting a code 43 which is some thing about the fuel system but I read it can be caused by the o2 so I changed that out for a newish denso I had as a spare. The code hasn't come back but it still doesn't seem to be running as it should.

Missing one brake spring clip I have to put on this weekend but they don't seem to be dragging anymore..

I took my warm air off for now thinking it was getting too hot but it hasn't solved it.

I orderd a temp probe to see what kind of intake temps I'm getting.

My cap and rotor are junky so I ordered a new set of beck arnley but they sent me the wrong cap. I've always had good experience with rock auto but they have me mad. I tried to do the return on there website wouldn't work. Called them up and I have to go to a fedex store to print out a label. And return it. Asked for them to send me a label but the guy said he couldn't. Seriously?? Give me a break. I literally don't have time to play games trying to find a fedex store when THEY sent me the wrong stinking part. The guy didn't offer anything to make it right for the inconvince or anything.
