He does drive it with them on, in a parking lot anyway. The description says he can turn the wheels fully with them on.

Same car, same look--one side is darker than the other because it's supposed to be based on Spiderman 3. You can see shots from various angles here.

The front wheels sit very far inboard, as you can see in this photo.

It looks like most of the grill is blocked, too. Interesting.

From that front view it looks as if the wheels are in stock location, and it is the widebody that flares way out past them. I doubt that was ever built for fuel economy, but it would be cool to see how the huge addition in frontal area offsets the gain of less turbulent flow down the side.
