All-electric (Class 5) reefer truck

I see those Chinese JAC electric trucks quite often nowadays, yet a reefer is not so common. Makes me wonder if the reefer unit has any technical improvement in order to decrease any range loss due to the increased electrical load.

Wouldn't need much additional cooling if it's full and pre cooled below freezing before leaving the yard.

That would be the case with iso-thermal trucks or vans, yet for some loads it's most likely illegal. Not to mention the unpredictability of some traffic jams :turtle:

Truck wise, I cant see how that would be illegal, but it is probable that a client would refuse a load that has gone soft during defrost in a traffic jam on a hot day.

Cant refreeze icecream.

Food safety regulations can be enforced quite strictly...
