I have just returned after a one month whirlwind tour from my home in Northern NY to the Gulf, the Southwest, California, and return in my turbo diesel Porsche 356.
I was hoping to get around 60 mpg for the trip, but there were a lot of grades, headwinds, and (worst of all) surrender to the temptation of all those 75 mph speed limits. My bad ---
I did set a new "Personal Best" by hitting 81 mph during an engine off coast in Arizona. Those steep, long western grades cut both ways
