American in Japan with a kei-car
I own a Daihatsu Move, with a JB-DET engine. 660cc DOHC 4 cylinder making not much power, but the turbo makes it fun. I only get about 13.3 kmpl, but most of my driving is less than 45 mph, with stoplights every 1/2 mile or so. Can't complain. It's a step up from the AZ Wagon I had as far as comfort, but a .7 kmpl step down in fuel consumption. Hope to get it up to the 14's with some engine and fuel system cleaning. Boost gauge, MBC, and water injection kit are coming, and new speakers, and head unit are already in. Car needs tires and an alignment pretty bad. I hope they will make a big difference in the consumption.

Nice car! I want pictures, :D

Those Moves are pretty neat (I think I 'drove' one on Gran Turismo 4).

そのことではないですが存続しているです
Yeah, the car is nice. Americans either love it or hate it. My dad says that all of the kei’s are cute because they are so small. The engine has the displacement of a 20 oz. bottle. Less than one cylinder in his truck. |

Welcome to EM! In this day and age, a kei-car is a nice car to have. What's the cost of gas in Japan right now? Oh, and ??????????????????????? CarloSW2 |
If you don't have japanese character sets on you can't see it, :p

Sorry i haven't been back. Gas is about 4.60 to 5 a gallon, depending on where you buy. The car has been returning weird numbers. When I play nice with it, it gets low KMPL, when I beat on it, and drive it up a mountain, it does good. I just got new tires, so we will see what happens.
