How do I attach a handle to Mom's dryer?
We had difficulty opening it when Mom first had it delivered. Not surprisingly, the plastic handle quickly broke. I put a hook bolt in one of the holes until I figured a better solution. That was a while ago and I have struggled with other projects.
Today my brother, with excessive energy, demanded to go to different stores. We kept saying that our sister wouldn't let us go to stores and he threw a tantrum. We had him get on his Fit board. I guess that he got tired because he eventually asked to stop and resumed asking to go to different stores.
I asked if he wanted to go for a walk and he excitedly indicated yes, so I took him for a 4.4-mile walk.
We are hot and sweaty and he is demanding to go to stores.
Anyway, on the way out we passed just over half of a tiny bottle of Purell, and on the way back I found this handle that doesn't match, but sure fits nicely!
It doesn't interfere with the seal!

Either spread the fingers in the latch or squeeze the male prong a tiny bit which should reduce the force required to open it.

You know me, I have a problem with every solution!
It took far too long to find a straight answer:

What about a King-of-Random-style spot welder? Our old microwave is still in the garage.
Wouldn't sheet metal screws transmit dryer heat?

Spot welders require minimum equipment.
Biggest thing is a 240v receptacle.
I got mine from harborfreight for around $160.
Don't bother with the 120v ones, they're a joke.
Welding is an expensive past time.

It looks like it’s a double wall door. Just use very short round headed stainless sheet metal screws that only pass through one side.
You don’t need to over think this.
