barely topped 50mpg.....U.S.

after getting a scangauge, installing belly pans, pizza pan disc's,rear wheel skirts, upper grill block, partial lower grill block, mirror delete.s. i finnaly hit a 50 mpg tank, on my regular commute , before mods my best was around 44 mpg. but i will admit that changing my driving style was at least 1/2 of the improvment. if i had not found this site i would still be trudging along, racing from red light to red light , just like the people that now tailgate me and get pee,ed off because im coasting up to the next redlight. the mind trust that is this site is incredible, with experts in most aspects of automotive engineering avalible ,and willing to help you for free, this internet thing is something, (maybe its not just another passing fad) i would thank everyone who helped but it would be a long post and i might forget someone,, so id like to thank the acadamy,,,, no but for real THANKS!

Nice job, you've obviously been hard at work, and fast. Breaking 50 was my first goal, then I broke 60 at the first AMEC run, and still I cant stop. 100 or bust with a new project car.

50 with a non-hybrid is an achievement to be proud of. I hope you choose to push the limits even further

Great Job! When I talk to people, I give credit 50/50. 50% is mods, 50% is driving technique. Truth be told, you have a talent for executing those mods. What's even more impressive is that you are starting with the Echo. Because of it's tall stance, I think it's not as aero-friendly as other small cars. That makes the achievement all the more impressive.

Might be a good time to make a single thread to index all your mods that just has links and a short description of the mod to make them easier to find?

It is as addictive as when I first got my Mustang GT and all I wanted to do was to throw go fast mods at it...

Now, I'm addicted to getting as much MPG out of my CRX as possible. This is a good thing to be addicted to because it saves me money and it helps out the environment.

Cheers guys!! Can I have a ecomodder.com sticker now?? :turtle:

Hypermiling alone I took my cav tro 40, but that was with countless varibles... 50 with hard work is far from shabby! I cant wait until you hit 60 70 and 80.

last 3 tanks just above 50 ,,got to do more mods so i can keep it above 50 in the summer,,unlike alot of you on this site my milage goes down in summer because of 100+% humidity and 95+ temps.,, working on tire strakes now.
