Cool Scion xD hypermiler

Hey everyone, my name's Mike and I'm from Michigan. I drive a 12' Scion xD and I've been hypermiling for a little over a year now. I really don't have much more to say honestly, except coming off of a Tacoma to a xD is one hell of a difference.

Welcome aboard. Good thing about the xd is the fact it has the dual vvt vs just on the intake only. Ive owned an xa and xb and the real secret to get better mpg was to accelerate above your desired speed, lift the throttle so the vvt resets, then reapply pressure to maintain your desired speed.

I believe what he is saying is:

If your target speed is 75mph, accelerate to 78mph or there about, and then completely let off the throttle for just quick enough to bring it back down to 75mph, and then ease back into the throttle just to the point of maintaining 75mph (or whatever your target speed may be.)
