my 93 ford festiva has a really steep back window like suvs do and i was wondering if the spoiler/fairing on the back of a 4 runner looks like it will do my areo some good...

you can barely see that it sticks up above the roof line an inch or so

Fastiva, none of your pictures are showing up here and the links in photobucket don't seem to work either when trying to find the images the hard way. Not sure, but your "aintno*****" :( may be part of the issue in the label on your photos. This is a family web site after all......:rolleyes:

If yours is the one with the 1.8 Turbo, then no. You will not gain much via aero.

yes i have the 1.8 turbo mazda motor in mine. im using the rear hatch spoiler off of a 91 civic hatch molded with fiberglass to fit onto my car.

To answer your question as best I can, this type of spoiler will only serve to keep your back window cleaner at the expense of creating aerodynamic drag.

If you want to improve the aero efficiency, you'll need to do something like a "Kamm Back" to smooth out airflow as it leaves the back of your car.

I'll post more later, and I'm sure others will chime in, now that they see whats goin on in Bee eye tchville. :eek:

Try a kammback or a boat tail. I did both (now have the boat tail) and it helps ~5MPG

Just so you know, the air doesn't even touch the lower spoiler. However, if it's well-mounted with bolts, it could make a good mounting point for other mods, like a Kammback.

i was also reading that the mods on the rear will not work that well unless the mods on the front are done first. being that i have a turbo and the intercooler needs as much air as it can get will mounting it flush in an air dam still serve as an aerodynamic part. sorry to hijack your pic aeromodder but it was the best one i could find... and where would be the best place to vent the under hood air? would making passages into the wheel wells be sufficient?
