Hi from Grand Bay, AL

Just came across this forum/ site today while searching for info on DIY EV. I have a background in electronics and computers. I'm currently working as a Marine Electrician building ships for our US Navy.
The donner vehicle I plan on using for conversion is a 2001 Nissan Frontier Truck with a 5 speed manual Trans. Knowing very little about this conversion business, I hope to learn enough from the fine folks here to complete my task.
I have many questions about the process that need answers. My main goal is to have an EV with a range of 150 mile on a charge. I'm hoping to use the EV as a daily driver so I must have lights, wipers, and radio! Nice things to add later are AC/ Heater, and maybe a solar charger for the batteries while is sits in a parking lot all day.

Tony

Welcome to the site Tony.

Yikes, 150 miles in a pickup truck. Hope you're looking to pay a lot for batteries! You'd need about half the batteries to go 150 miles in a car FYI.

No offense, if you're anything like the AF electricians that are flightline, you are not building any ships, you maintain them. But I have similar training and field work, hence what brought me here as well ha.
