In defence of EVs
 

This may have come up here before, but I do not see it posted. I found this on Copenhagenize (via Twitter):

That was a very well written response.

Funny how most of those complaints are a pretty good echo of what was said about hybrid cars a decade ago, and I can't remember ever seeing a broken down Prius sitting on the shoulder of the road.

But I would quarrel with one statement:

Because there are people who take their half-empty SUVs into the wilds of Nevada (despite the "Next Gas 1xx Miles" signs at the edge of town), and run out.

I'm sure those folks were hypermiling, and they'd be a little embarrassed to have to post a 500mi tank when they know they can squeeze it for 600mi.
