does this look work?
Ok before you guys kill me for never getting anything done and asking 50 billion questions... I have all the supplies for everything I have been talking about I just cant seem to get the ambition up to lay in the dirt in 85deg sun to do it.. I thank everyone here for the encouragement, openness to new ideas and the volumes of information you all share.
This is what I want the final product to look like. I did a quick photo editing job on a picture I had. The upper grill block is the real question here. Aside from aero do you think this works into the design well? The chrome surround will be removed on the real one leaving a small recess for the material to fit into nice and flush. I bought some expanding foam to fill in the fog light holes so I can make removeable "plugs" http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...e/notmine1.jpg http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...ntitled-2b.jpg |
Looks good to me.

Nothing wrong with that

Very nice -- now add a foam gasket along the whole hood gap...;)

Doooo eeeet! :p
Have you thought how you are going to attach them? You can see my version here, with lots of pictures. |
Terry,
You know it is funny I was actually looking at that thread the other day. Thats what sparked me to do the photo editing so I could "see" my results. I really need to make friends with someone that has a garage so I can get the underbody stuff done. I really hate fire ants. |

Yeah, I was gonna give you a hard time about not wanting to lay in the warm sunshine, but fire ants puts a whole new perspective on it. :p
Could you spray down a piece of cardboard with Raid, and then lay on that? |
How are you going to do removable plugs with the expanding foam? It seems like it will stick to anything it touches.
