I occasionally check the main page to see what the member/lurker ratio is. At this moment it's Currently Active Users: 2249 (2 members and 2247 guests).

Two active members is not unusual, lately; but a thousand Guests is more usual. This is twice that.

I've come to accept that a large percentage of those are auto-bots scouring for data driven by advertiser's appetite (more lately turbocharged by AI?).

Doesn't a user require having an account? Some forums also require a couple of posts before you become official. I see nothing that prevents a bot being here, if they really are here. Could be registered but not a user if they haven't posted.

Could explain the spate of odd comments lately from newbies.

Newst member (beautybyjulijashop25) doesn't sound serious enough to want to improve efficiency unless they shave heads or something, BUT could be showing my male machismo prejudices

I have at least 50 tabs open at any one time, one of which is inevitably Ecomodder.

Interesting that the most activity here occurred October of last year with 50k users. Must have been a big bot spree around then.
