The effect of a cold air intake on mpg
I have a Civic VX that is completely stock. Will a cold air intake make my mpg worse all other things being the same? Anyone have test results from a similar scenario?

I've always understood that warm fuel and cold air garnished the best results, but found that many will argue with me on these points.
I know nothing. Experiment in an A/B fashion and post your results. |
I would have to waste the money required to buy a cold air intake and the tons of time that would be required to get a decent set of results to know the answer. That's why I asked here first hoping that someone has already tried it.

I have a cold air intake - I don't think it matters very much; but that is just a WAG. Mine cost a lot and I know it was not worth the money.

Did you use the search function for this site, in the above left corner? If not, do that first. This has been discussed many times. I think you're having trouble getting responses because it has been talked out so often. Here is just one search result I got: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...html#post22445
Read the whole thread and you'll see that the answer sorta is and has to be: "it depends upon your car and your driving conditions." But do your own search. I can tell you that if you check my garage page, you'll find I linked to my WAI test under my listed current mods for my '98 Civic DX. BTW: Quote:
