Electric Fiero for sale

1 Attachment(s)
I am selling my 86 Pontiac Fiero project. It currently has a 8" Prestolite motor in it. I chopped off the back end of the old gas motor and had it milled down and used that as my adapter so I could still use the clutch. I ran this car for about 3000 miles with this setup at 96 volts and a home-made resistive controller and had it well over 70mph. Put in a Kelly controller that went south when it got rained on with the trunk open during charging. Too many other projects so this one has to go. I have a tow bar for it so you can tow it home. The flywheel isn't balanced perfectly, so it does vibrate a little at high motor rpms. The front tires only hold air for about 2 days right now and it does need new rotors in the front. Interior is a little rough. The rims alone are worth $300. First $500 takes it. Located in Neenah, WI 54956.

PM me for more info.

Yes, back in 2004 or 5. How did you know?

I was looking at it pretty hard back then and just happened to remember it.

Yea, it had a hole in one of the cylinders, and the rims that were on it were steel with funky plastic hubcaps.

Still looking for someone to come and get this thing. A little more info: It has a GM vacuum pump for the brakes. It has a 1000 amp gauge with the shunt mounted in the rear compartment. It has 2 Curtis Albright contactors. It has two 48 volt gauges on the dash, because I ran it with 2 banks of 48 volts with a series/parallel switch. I will try to get some more pictures up soon.

I'd love to take it if I lived closer.

The price certainly is right. I've got the same problem in the other direction.

Would the Prestolite motor accept a Variable Frequency Drive?
