Owner: Mulder25
F.O.R.D: 1987 Dodge Dakota LE
Displacement: 3.9 L
Fuel type: gasoline
Transmission: automatic
Curb weight: 0 lbs
Coefficient of drag: 0
Frontal area: 0 sq.ft.
Instrumentation: other
Description: Vehicle has been retired due to constant repairs, hence its nickname F.O.R.D (fix or repair daily), rarely found on road dead however. ;-)
Even with my improvements and driving techniques, an average of 22mpg is too low for my 60 mile commute.
Build Thread:
Current Mods: Vortex Generators - i dont think these helped, but the logic makes sense.
Tonnaeu cover - keeps the bed covered to reduce wind drag, and keep things in the truck without fear of water damage.
Over-sized tires - screws up my speedometer, but its like adding overdrive, or re-gearing. Torque converter locks up at 40 MPH, larger tires keep the RPMs lower

Planned Mods: The opposite of ecomods. I am turning this vehicle into a storm chasing truck, it will need a lot more power, so fuel economy will suffer, but its not a daily driver anymore.
Plan to put in a manual transmission though, this could help economy, but likely will be used more for power than economy.
