Cool OBDII Gear from AutoMeter at SEMA.

This is the only video I shot for my YouTube channel at the SEMA show this year.

Real. Wireless. Gauges.

AutoMeter acquired Palmer Performance (developers of Dash Command) earlier this year. They're doing some very cool stuff.

Knock wood I'll get to test the wi-fi gauges soon.

Disclaimer: AutoMeter helped sponsor my Ain't Fuelin' series.

Cool...I'm interested...when they get around to TOYOTA (ha,ha).

Wonder how "accurate" their MPG calculations are?

Interesting, but I'm not sold. Except for the Rocket Bunny through-the-hood exhaust stacks.

The illuminated gauges with data-driven color changes are cool, but using a Wi-fi dongle to save through-the-firewall holes is pointless when the port is already inside the firewall. And it adds attack surface for hackers. What track record does Autometer have with IT security?

Not exhaust stacks, AFAIK. Turbo …

The firewall hole is just one example.

I am planning to add an air fuel gauge and a vac gauge to my '99 HX. With this setup, I will not need to add a second wideband 02 sensor. I was going to drill a hole in the exhaust manifold and add a new bung. Not any more. This will save a bunch of time, effort, and expense.

How many hackers would go to the trouble to attack something as obscure as a performance brand-specific OBDII dongle? Where's the reward?
