Finally broke 100MPG in wife's Prius!
Hey Guys,
I got to borrow my wife's Hymotion Prius today. I drove to and from a study group I am involved with that's about 12 miles from home. For the ride back, I remembered to reset the trip odometer and scangauge. I took the 35/45 mph backroads. The Prius display was pegged at 99.9 mpg all the way home. When I parked, the Scangauge for the trip said 131 mpg! I went inside and got my camera. The engine must have come on while the car was parked and I was getting the camera, because it then read 130mpg when I actually got the photo. http://300mpg.org/wp-content/uploads...4/DSC_1619.jpg Pretty excited that I finally got a real recorded 100MPG+ trip down. Interestingly, my Electro-Metro, with electric use converted to eMPG, it usually clocks in at 130 MPG! |
Yeah, i also got 130MPG today. *wink* *wink*

Great job!
Just have to ask, was that all down hill? What was the first half of the drive like? |
Rolling hills - up and down. There is one big hill in my area that there's now way you can get up without using then engine.
I feel like I'm just finally starting to get to know this car now. |
Very impressive!
I have difficulty getting to 130 mpg with the Insight on occasion! Jim. |
Nice job Ben. There is more where that came from!
|
geesh that is amazing.
good job! |
That is just 130mpg on gasoline, not counting the electricity from the plug in kit that is installed, right?
|
Yeah, the SG (or OEM display) doesn't calculate battery energy used.
