First Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) compliant country
The Dutch government proposed to have a countrywide ban of the sale of new non-sustainable gas and diesel vehicles within the next decade including hybrids/plug-in hybrids by 2025. All-EV and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles would be the legal options for the Dutch sale. The long term plan includes traffic integration of EV/fuel cell autonomous vehicles to ease the highway/road system congestion.

Not sure about the viability of such turnaround in a relatively short term. I still believe they're skipping some steps...
|
And how on Earth can they consider H2-powered cars to be zero emission?
|
I suppose the same way they're considering EV's to be zero emissions.

Environmental driven insanity.
|
For perspective on their motivation, keep in mind that about 25% of the Netherlands is already below current sea levels.
Just saying. |
Anything the neatherlands does to mitigate CO2 will be about as effective as farting in a tornado.
Reconsidering being below would be far more effective than anything to do with limiting their own CO2 emissions. Limiting their own CO2 emissions to try and save the 25% of your country that is below sea level is pure insanity. |
You can be pretty sure that vehicle plans are not their only focus.
|
They need floating cities as does New Orleans.
