Forget The CB750's, CB900C Trike Ideas!
95 HP, 10 speeds (The 750's 5 speed plus a two speed behind), Can be bought cheap from $1,000 up, Reverse Trike?
Use the full bike minus the forks behind the passenger. Still want to use combination clutch pedal/shifter pedals.' but clutch pedal and paddle shifters would be OK. |

Well, it won't be a T-Rex, but bit should go pretty good. Here's the gear ratios for both high and low ranges of the transmission:

This seems more easily doable, but how do you plan to couple the CB engine to the 2-speed transmission?

The CB900c already had it. I don't think they made them for very many years. Don't recall if they were shaft drive or not, shaft would be nice, but couldn't play with gearing as easy as chain.
I'd try to find a newer wrecked bike if I was going to attempt something like this. A Suzuki 1200-1250 bandit would be a good choice. |
They were shaft drive, and the 2 speed sub transmission, as they called it, was part of the bike. I would keep everything, short of the forks, as it comes. They upgraded this in '83 to a CB1000C, but these are probably much more expensive. Both the 900C and the 1000C are bored and stroked versions of the 750

Are you sure you can change the H/L lever at speed? It would be great if you can. Their were dual sports with the H/L range trans as well.

I was 15-16 dealer let me test ride a used 1983 CB1100F, we might of had the gs550l, but nothing in comparison. Wish I had any money at the time, but I'd probably wouldn't be here today. Still on my dream bike list.
