That's actually a really awesome idea for belly pan material. Just about as stiff as coroplast, probably a thousand times more durable. You car's becoming one mean hypermiling machine.

Off topic, what is your front air dam made out of? Looks like a rubber material for the base and the sides are maybe rubber too? Just curious, it looks fantastic, and searching through threads created by you I didn't see one about the air dam.

It's much stronger and thicker than coroplast. More like a skid plate than a belly pan! Unfortunately it's heavier too.

That's something like air dam version 4.0 at this point. Really more of a splitter. I wanted to get the air to go around the car without adding frontal area. It sticks out past the original bumper, so I'm hoping all the air that hits the bumper will go around and not under. I think it works, I got my best highway MPG after putting it on there. The splitter is just the top section of a spare bumper cover. So it perfectly matches the bumper on the car! I noticed I needed less of a grill opening after installing the splitter, there must be more pressure on the bumper now.

The pieces in front of the tires are rubber hay baler belting. Similar to a mud flap or a lightweight conveyor belt. They hit the road a lot without damage.

And the grill block is made from another bed liner piece! I've been meaning to start a thread about the front end, but I was waiting until I finished the active grill block. I guess I don't have to wait. :)

Here are my earlier attempts at an air dam and grill block:

why do all the bedliner bellypan threads go away?

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet! I can't wait to see how this turns out. So simple, but so brilliant.

I gave one away free years ago now I'm kicking myself!

this is an old thread and think it's dead.
i have a liner in my old truck and now i have some ideas.
i can heat the front ends and flatten it with some heavy bricks to tuck it under the skid plate.
found this thread during a search and glad i did. saw a free on on craigs but no way to get it home.

Derp. I read the first post, and the others, not seeing the time stamp. I thought your post was just a comment on how other threads never came through. Whoops! Gas Fume, what happened?

And hope to see yours, DeeJaaa.

deejaaa -- The first post doesn't give you any ideas?
