Hmm... Not for me.

I'm replying with the latest Chrome & up to date XP.

I'm also using XP with Chrome at work, and no issues. Seems to be a computer issue. Reboot obviously, if that doesn't work try another browser.

clean out the browser history and cookies. There a program called Ccleaner that does a good job.

For the most part it works fine on all websites I visit. It seems within the first 2 seconds of visiting the home page unless I click recent posts fast enough the next screen wont load and it stays on the home page. I cant click anything, but the circle keeps rotating. After 30 seconds or so I get a pop up to KILL the page or WAIT. I have to close the browser, then go back with my fingers read to click RECENT POSTS.

The clock is ticking on XP anyway; after April 8 the security updates end, and hackers await that date to unleash their attacks on the remaining XP users.

I made the switch to Linux Mint 16 on my 8 year old barebone PC, and after some minor issues it works like a charm.
I can still boot XP, but it feels like punishment.

Linux Mint 16 is only good til July, i booted up Mint 13 on mine for support until 2017

I feel the punishment i dual booted Mint with win7 on my laptop. If I have my charger i use linux it only gives 1 hour battery life. :(

I know, Mint 16 was a bit of an experiment for me.
I want to swap to another version anyway at some time, if only to use a bigger partition of my HDD; like the one now in use for XP.

Once I got the right driver for my on-board NVidia GeForce graphic chipset I had no freezes or other graphic trouble at all. Just missing Chrome/AdBlock a bit, but it performs well even with all the ads.

If you swap i would go to Mint 13 for the support reasons, most the good linux os's feel a bit to much like mac os instead of windows like mint

Lubuntu and Firefox for me at the moment-it can run in as little as 128 MB RAM and (as of now) has 4GB to pkay with. Also, The next Stable release will be ready by the time my version gets stale.

Lubuntu plus Chrome is honestly an awesome (and faster at low resource) combo-Google having all my personal settings in Cloud bothers me, but at the same time makes a nice easy Backup for bookmarks and such...might go back to it eventually.

My recent laptop came with Windows 8.1-I honestly gave it an entire two weeks to impress me before I grabbed the Holy Water and assumed my Max Von Sydow voice (THE POWER OF TORVALDS COMPELS YOU! THE POWER OF TORVALDS COMPELS YOU!!!!) :D Anyway, i'm much happer now...
