ScanGauge-E Review and Compairison

A few months back, Darin and Ben (EM’s owners) asked me to review the new ScanGauge-E. I gladly accepted and tried it out for a few weeks. You can see the full review here. For the blog we’ll keep it short and to the point. First up we’ll look at some of the limitations of [...]

I have a mpg display on my Skoda Fabia which I use a lot; however the update rate is slow (maybe every 2 seconds). Do you think the Scangauge would give any advantage over my factory mpg readout?

thanks

The scangauge is far superior to a factory mpg readout, but not because it refreshes faster, its all the other functionality that helps out a lot more than just the mpg readout.

I've got one on its way - cant wait. Any tips on what displays to use for a small turbo-diesel most appreciated!

The main issue I have with the ScanGauge on my diesel, is they calculate fuel use.
They don't get calibrated to your car, but to your driving style.
Calibrate it, then change the way you drive, and it'll be off.

I've been looking at getting either a Scangauge-E or ScangaugeII for a while now. One question I have is whether either (or both of them) will give me info other than MPG, like %load, timing, fan speed, etc.

ScanGaugeII

ScanGauge-E

On the bottom click on the "Digital Gauges" tab and you can see everything that the SG will display (assuming your engine has a sensor for it).
