Garage - Improved Images Section
In the garage section, for our vehicles, it would be nice to have improved hosting. I am not expecting 1 terabyte, unlimited images- but 100 kb, and 500 pixels wide is quite the pain, and doesn't really show the full scope of the image. I know supporters get 20, instead of 5, but could that include improved performance?

Just use a free photo sharing web site such as:
Flickr Then link to the photos in posts. http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...der-18279.html |

You can't add image to your garage that way. But can link to them in any post.

Your images will show up in the Garage. One tip, make sure to use small dimension photo's as it will not re size. The size can be unlimited since the image is hosted at a third party, and you can add as many images as you want. I uploaded one as an example: Details: Lean and Mean - 1998 Honda Civic HX Fuel Economy - EcoModder.com Another tip, you can use the same formatting in the Garage section as in posts. BBcode is the code formatting. For bold you use the [B] tag, for underline it's the [U] tag, and so on. It's just a matter of figuring out the tags. |
cbarber, Nice to know.
But that only loads the picture to the text box and not into the garage managed images correct or did I miss something? |
I see, does that work for the section were photos go? I didn't particularly want to make a long list of the photos, I was thinking more like how it is setup already, but being able to use larger photos. I thought eBays standard of under 7mb images was crazy, getting to under 100kb is crazy (to me).

Correct guys that only displays the images in the description, not in the original images section.
The reason they have size limits is because the site is having to upload and host the photo's. Using large photos takes a lot of bandwidth. Although servers and internet has become much faster in recent years. 100kb was a lot more back then than it is now. Bumping up the limit in the settings on the Garage modification to about 10mb would add a lot of quality, but that depends on if the sites server can handle it. |
