This generation's Wink mirrors

300% increased visibility over your standard mirror. A continuous wide-angle video feed from a trunk mounted camera. Eliminates pillars and blindspots, especially if the rear seats are full of cargo or hatted or big-headed passengers and you have the choice to toggle back to a traditional mirror! (you can still put on your mascara or trim your beard)
As usual, these tech improvements still need gov'ment testing and approvals.

Got cameras, yet?

Now, THAT is something worth having!

Amen!!

The problem for most "drivers" is that you have to unstick the phone from your head and reconnect your brain for situational awareness before any mirrors do any good.

As one of "...the few...", I have no (smart, dumb, or cell) phones, so I am able to appreciate/use such a device immediately (wink, wink).

Don't care about the obstructions, but the ability to eliminate glare from the headlights of following cars would be worth quite a bit to me.

Wonder if they sell any aftermarket ones?

You need a rear view mirror? Im happy with just a drivers side one.

The birds eye one, now that could come in handy.

People need to use mirrors for them to do any good, but it would be amazing if these things eliminated glare, someone driving with their brights, or some truck that got lifted, but did not adjust the headlights, or some aggressive fool trying to burn as many gallons per hour as possible.

This should also help me figure out who is following me faster.

Very nice, but I can't help think that the technology would have more impact if used to replace the side view mirrors.
