Barris Kustom Industries

In honor of the legendary George Barris, the Turbo-sonic was one of his more aerodynamic designs. It had active aerodynamics; stabilizer wing flaps and offset parachutes.

SEMA 2015 is goin' on right now and bows down to one of its legendary creatives. What is the folded thing up on the front?

I was wondering that same thing. That is a George Barris custom Prius.

No disrespect. Just not my taste in styles.
He did some pretty unique stuff.

It makes me think of this : http://g02.a.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1TwUmI...ing-font-b.jpg

I was never a fan of George Barris. He seemed to be more of a Hollywood promoter than a customizer - although his Ala Kart was nicely done.

You know, this comes as a surprise, because he's one of those people, like Yogi Berra, who I remember from childhood as being fairly old, so I just assumed that they'd died long ago.

His bother Sam died young. He was the one that did the chop-top Mercs. Ford did the heavy lifting with the Lincoln Futura, and George didn't have enough budget to screw up the Batmobile. He took off the top and painted it.

Capriracer -- I forgot about the Ala Kart.
