Going to have to build the bumper I want

I have been searching around for a push bumper/air dam that will fit a old C/K-10/20/30 body style.
The factory stamped chrome bumpers on both ends have had it.
When I find something that looks about right its got a $1000+ price tag and then I bet it takes a freight charge to move it anywhere.
I picked up a used rear step bumper from the junk yard for dirt cheap. The step bumper will be good for when I load stuff on top of my suburban and will give me a place to install power plugs (I am installing a big power inverter to run saws and welder) and air quick disconnects (also installing a rather large Gast 12v air compressor), I may even add a block heater plug into the back also.
I would like the same on the front, a male power plugs for the block heater, a female power plug so I can use the inverter power around the truck and air QDs.

I have an idea of what I want it to look like, a optional or custom ford bumper I found a picture of on the internet.
I would like to make it out of thinner steel diamond plate from the scrap yard and paint it with truck bed liner. Stainless steel would be acceptable too.
Will post a pic later.

Ignore the rest of the brush guard.
I like the lower part.

That looks like it originally came off the front end of a diesel train engine...

Nice to get to incorporate some of the aero into it as well. Mine will go a little wider at the tire than the factory look, to help the aero there, and go lower too.

So thats where those bumpers came from.
The over all shape is perfect but they are made from 1/4 inch steel so I bet they weigh in some where around 300 pounds.
It looks like they make stuff mostly for ford and dodge plus I didn't see any prices. That usually means you have to ask for pricing and if you have to ask it means you don't have enough.
(other push bumpers I have seen pricing for weren't this nice, weren't nearly as thick and were in the $1000 range)

I have priced those bumpers you talk about, and the least expensive I could find was $1000. With them being upwards of $3500.

Too bad you are so far away. I could get some metal sheared up and make a nice custom bumper. I really need the truck to fab up the mounts though.
Do you really need a push rated bumper, or is that just the style you want?

I do not need a push rated bumper at all. Mainly because of the weight that comes along with it.
I figured I would dig up some dimond tread pattern 1/8'' steel from the scrap yard. Dimond tread would look nice and being 1/8'' would keep it from getting torn up by say something like a semi tire in the middle of the road.
With my miller 625 plasma cutter I can cleanly cut steel up to 3/4 inch thick, and weld steel up to 9mm with my little 135 amp lincon welder and I have my collection of varrious grinders and cutters.
The only thing I cant do for my latest round of truck mods is weld up my Stainless steel half inch thick T3 to HE351VE turbocharger flange adaptor. I will cut it, shape it, fit it, tack weld it together then take it to a local shop that specializes in stainless welding and machining to put the finished welds on it.

Found a 15'' tall 1/4 inch thick aluminum peterbilt bumper at the scrap yard for $20.
I can build what I want out of this.
