Underbody CFD analysis of a Saab 9-3

An interesting CFD analysis from 2 students of Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.

They use CFD to test underbody modifications aimed at reducing aerodynamic drag. It is their Master's thesis in automotive engineering.

Haven't finished reading the whole document (88 pages) yet, but it is quite interesting thus far.

Enjoy !

Interesting thing to note on there that I've seen the opposite of being done is that it's more beneficial to have smooth wheel covers on the rear wheels instead of on the front wheels. (Pages 68-9).

Apparently it increases the efficiency of the rear diffuser, thus improving pressure recovery. Pretty neat if you ask me.

There is some pretty good information there. However, I'm surprised by the amount of grammatical errors, considering its a Master's thesis.

It's in Sweden, sir.

Now, I have never been and am not a linguistics expert! But I figure if they are not using Swedish, it's English as a Swede. British English uses a lot of y for i, such as tyres, and ou for o, such as colour. So that was my guess. I usually get pretty bugged by adults not using half way decent grammar/spelling, and that would be my explanation for them.
