Since this is a new model of tire, I have yet to see testimonials of MPG improvement with these. Even so, they seem to be reasonably priced:

The Sumitomo HTR tires still seem like the champions of cost per MPG gain, but it's always nice to see more LRR tires on the market.

I did a bit of googling, and it looks like the sidewall max of the new Goodyear is 51 PSI. I know lots of EcoModders run far above the sidewall max, but the Goodyear might be a good option for those who want to run a LRR tire at high psi, while staying within the sidewall max.

What about us 13 inch guys?

I did notice that the tread pattern is VERY similar to the Michelin MXM4s I just got for my Matrix which are supposedly a LRR. Not that tread pattern dictates FE drastically, just something I noticed.

I had the Fuel Max installed last week, replacing our bald Integrities. I am running them at 50/48 psi. They are quieter than the Integrities, which is one reason I chose them over the HydroEdge. It is very hard for me to say what it has done to the mileage since we have three drivers in the family and our driving varies from tank to tank. I was expecting a small hit on mileage anyway because of the new tires. I'd be interested in hearing what psi others are running these at.

Yeah, unfortunately this isn't an option for 13" wheels. Since the new Goodyear isnt available for under 15", I'm in the same boat with my 14" wheels.

I just put Michelin MXM4's on my 17's... they feel cushy, yet firm, and are rated as a "luxury" tire. (At $240 each.)

Ouch. I'm afraid you'll never recoup the extra cost of those tires in fuel savings.

If I ever buy a car with wheels over ~15-16 inches, I think I'll find smaller wheels from a junkyard so that my tires will cost less.

Wow, my MXM4s (also on 17s) only cost me $130/tire.

I purposely put 17's on my van for the look. (Vain, I know.)

The tires, they RETAIL for $240/ea... I paid $150 for all four, with 9/32. (I don't shop retail often, it's part of my economically-brained life.)

That's actually cheaper than the 14" tires I needed for my van to begin with, which are about 40 each, cheapest I've found, and 60 each for ones I'd actually use.

The Michelin "HydroEdge Green X" may come in 14" sizes; if it follows the current HydroEdge models. It'll be interesting to see if the Green X version is better than the Fuel Max? The tread pattern of the Michelins looks like it would be quieter and lower RR...
