Gout/Arthritis

Anyone here experienced or has gout/arthritis?

Been experiencing chronic gout attacks over the years due to high uric acid levels in my blood and it hurts! Only by taking colchicine and allopurinol was I able to reduce and eliminate it..but whenever I forget to take my meds, it attacks again and have to resort to steroids to be able to get up and walk..knes and ankles get too swollen:mad:

Regular physical activity. Gout and arthritis are diseases of inactivity, among other factors.

I practice Tai Chi for health, and I understand this can reduce and help heal this type of disorder.

...I rather doubt that anyone has successfully "healed" arthritis.

^^^ AFAIK, nothing can be done for arthritis, except painkillers like aspirin, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, et al.

Well, this place has a good reputation for helping and healing.

Arthritis USA

I have a friend (55 yrs old) that went there and had the procedure done to his knees.
Before going he could hardly walk without assistance of some sort. Approximataly 4-6 weeks after the treatment he began to walk on his own again.

Check out the before and after x-rays section.

Hmm saw some of the treatments offered on the site, non-invasive unlike the arthroscopy I WAS planning to have except my gout attacks went dormant all of a sudden.

My rheumatologist told me to try meds first (colchicine and allopurinol) before I go all out on an invasive operation like arthroscopy..so far so good

...beware of tophi deposits and cysts!

You under a lot of stress, OP? Arthritis, upper respiratory problems, etc. are auto immune disorders that get aggravated by excessive stress. Cancer has been linked to it too.

If you got stuff yer holdin' in, gonna make you sick.

Time to get it off ya, so you can live.

There was a test run years ago by the Deteroit Free Press to see if arthritis was curable they started a test group on low level antibiotics and another on placebos and the AMA made them quit after 13 weeks cause they were getting too well too fast. The Dr's want to treat you not cure you.
