Electric Cab of Austin runs Bigman bm48 NEV's

So, I've been busy working my new job and haven't been contributing much (not that my insight is worth a penny). Electric Cabs of Austin hired me on to do some sales and marketing for them. The Cab company runs Bigman bm48 NEV's. They seem to have a solid 5 hours of runtime or about 40-55 miles depending on grade changes. Does anyone have much experience with these NEV's? The owners have been doing this for 3 years but I'm just trying to gain some insight into the vehicles from another perspective. There really isn't much online at all.

Do they close for the summer? 105F and 20-mph is like riding inside a convection oven. When I was 14 and at Six Flags Over Texas amusement park, I didn't care that I was paying for the experience. But not even business casual clothing can survive a half-hour in Texas summer heat. Not being snarky so much as curious. Convention center to restaurants a half-mile away? Or?

We mainly operate at night and cater to the entertainment district in Austin, so heat isn't really a concern. But right now winter is upon us and we are running only partially enclosed cars right now.

Might work around campus.
Not many roads around here with an under 45 mph speed limit.

Actually most of the roads have a posted speed limit of 30mph. 95% of the time everyone is going under 20mph. It's not as big of a deal as you're making it out to be. And these are in no way golf carts. They're much safer, faster, better bakes, street legal, etc.

Next time you roll downtown you'll probably find yourself surrounded by taxi's, pedicabs and bicyclists all going at the same pace of less than 10mph.
