Green Tires From Orange Peels Use Less Oil, Bring Better MPGs

Pretty cool idea IMO, especially since peels aren't too useful anyways. I definitely like the idea of reducing the petroleum usage in manufacturing of the tire. Lower rolling resistance just makes it even better, and a 20% claimed improvement none the less! :)

This is fantastic because I won't have to worry about the termites eating my tires anymore. ;) . CarloSW2 |
I like the mention that they squeal more when driven hard - that's good feedback to have, reminds the driver that they're on "thin ice"

Wow, looks like I can start producing "orange/green" tires: My Wife eats lots of oranges, 3-6 each day, so we have alot of waste peels going to the compost. One new tire every week and we be rollin' ;)

Great. Tire smoke that smells like orange juice and exhaust that smells like french fries... I'm going to be hungry all the time. :-)

Wait...Oranges have peels!?!? I've always just eaten them like apples. Guess I'll have to start peeling them then <shrug>.
I keed, I keed! :D |
I knew a guy in high school who ate them that way.

I eat apple cores. I can't stand orange peels, though. Bananas either.
It's a good use for an existing waste stream... imagine canned oranges and such. |
And I love the aerodynamic hub caps :-)
