Greetings From St. Louis
Hi everyone,
I've been on here for tips and ideas for awhile and decided its time to sign up. Sold my 01 Civic and bought a 95 Subaru Legacy AWD Automatic 2.2L wagon. Needed to cut down on monthly expenses and a great way is no car payment. I was getting a 34 - 38 with the Civic, and wow this car is so different. So far with just basic good eco driving techniques and getting to know her, I'm 1.8 MPG over combined EPA, 23.8 on first fillup...not bad for a much bigger vehicle. I do mainly mixed driving with a lot of rush hour highway driving. Here's the short term plan... 1. Increase tire psi to 38 all around 2. Roof Rack and mud flap delete 3. 5W-30 Synthetic Oil and lowest weight on rear diff (need to check this out) 4. Synthetic tranny fluid If anyone has some good ideas that work on a Legacy wagon, please send them my way. The research and getting to know this car has just begun. This is by far one of the best hypermiling sites out there, and I'm glad that I finally signed up. |
I just filled up my tank for the second time. 25.1 on this tank.
Tires are at 38 psi, removed the center links on the roof rack (need to figure out how to remove the rest of it since there are no more visible screws). I need to remove the mud flaps, but all of the bolts are stripped out. I also started putting it in N when stopped at lights, along with all of my other sensible driving techniques. |
Perhaps you should check out the MPGuino for real-time fuel economy feedback!

Welcome to EM! This may interest you, but you need to do more research to make sure it is healthy for your Subaru : http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...rive-8593.html And MPGuinos are good! CarloSW2 |
