Guess the mileage?

You pickup drivers got nothing on this guy. This recently pulled into our parking lot at work. The trailer is 200 ft (61 meters) long. A standard semi trailer is 75 feet long. It was shipped from New York to Milwaukee and took a week to get here. Good speed for reducing aero drag I guess. :p

What was he hauling?

A metal ring for a rock crusher. It acts as a roller on a huge drum that crushes rock. The other end of the drum gets a gear the same size. We had it shipped to us to turn it on a lathe. The place that cast it didn't have one big enough.

Good lord...that thing is HUGE!!

We see trailers like this from time ot time, only they have a puller and a pusher truck. If I know of one arriving beforehand, I'll take some pics. Not supposed to have cameras at work.

I'm going to guess 2mpg, each axle can carry something like 10 tons or so right? and that trailer has 18 axles it looks like, and the last trailer that I saw like that had a pusher engine in the rear, pretty impressive, I would love to see the lath that part is turned on.

I'm not sure of the specifics on the trailer. In fact, I don't know what kinda mileage it got either. I just wanted to post the images haha. :)

Can do Ryland. Its a two story tall vertical lathe. It takes cuts of about 1 inch per rev. Cuts better than 40 foot diameters. Its very impressive. We actually hold the world record for largest gear made at 43 feet in diameter.
