Hard to read MPGunio
IS there any way to light up the read outs or change the display for a brighter or even larger one??
Rich |
I've build at least 4 MPGuinos already and each with a different LCD. Of course you can change it for a bigger one, smaller one
It's up to you. :) |
Great do you do them or can you tell me how to do one for myself??
Rich |
If you have working MPGuino you just need to buy a different LCD that suits your needs and then just solder or sometimes plug in different LCD and that's all.
Not a rocket science :D Almost any 16x2 LCD will do the job. Right now I'm using 24x2 LCD and it works well :) |
Thanks.
Where did you get your large one?? And is the any with brighter better lighting? Rich |
I got mine from a cash register ;-)
It's HUGE and with great contrast, and green led lighting. |
Thanks guess I will need to shop around.
OR hope someone else shows me another unit. Rich |
|
I will look them over thanks.

A bit late but:
Google "arduino 2004 lcd" (4 lines, 20 characters) or "1602" (16x2). If you want to save pins on the arduino look for the I2C version. The one I bought originally came with a separate I2C converter that I never managed to get working. A couple of weeks ago I stopped at Microcenter and found out that they sell this kind of stuff as well. They had the same brand (sainsmart) but with the I2C module already attached (and presumably tested) for just a couple bucks more than buying it from an online store in China. |
