Hello from S Ontario Canada! 07 Civic...SGII etc.
Hi all,
I'm from Southern Ontario and have an 07 Civic LX Auto 1.8L R18. I have HCH wheels and the proper size Michelin tire for them, a ScanGaugeII, rear wheel well inner HCH covers, lower/upper grill block of foam pipe insulation for now...lower block of black corroplast should be done today in 2 or 3 sections. I'm running waterless coolant to prevent overheating issues. Last long road trip fully loaded (2 adults and a ton of luggage) and quite cold temps(-28C) travelling of 3200KM's yielded 5.833 Liters per hundred km (40.32 US MPG). I was also travelling through the central US where I unfortunately did not drive slow...120KM avg (about 75MPH). Anyway, look forward to learning from you all. Scott |
Welcome.
Get a few more posts. Then put up some pictures. |
40 mpg at that speed is good.

Thanks elhigh , I got lazy and used cruise control after the first 1/3 of the trip. Was seeing approximately 44.5 without. I'm old and started getting foot/leg cramps :)
|
Nemo, I will post a few pictures soon :)
Nothing too dramatic for mods... |
Oh yeah, I'll be making a 2,000km trip next weekend. We'll see if my corroplast lower grill block is more efficient than pipe lagging! I'm sure it will be.

Ok, a few pics of the car...sorry about the messy car, it's winter! And the crappy pictures, cell phone inside :(.

When you take your next trip. Stop every hour or so and walk around so you don't get a case of thromboflabitus (spelling?) as I did in a one gas stop from Atlanta to Cleveland.
And use the cruise so your leg is not all tensed up for hours on end. |

welcome
Welcome Scott,
Those are really good numbers. We had an 2005 Civic SE Auto with similar modifications (chloroplast upper and lower grill blocks, ScanGauge II) and the best I ever got (hot middle of summer perfect conditions) in over two years with the car was 5.8L/100km. Well done for bigger engine, winter conditions, and faster speeds - very impressive. Welcome, Benphyr. |
