Hello there!
https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/...55958803_n.jpg
My '92 LSC with a bit of snow on top and an '87 LSC I no longer own in the background. It has 110,000 miles on the clock ans so far my best average MPG driving to and from work is 17.7. (My avatar pic.) https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/...39581994_n.jpg This is my '97 Impreza. I've owned and beat on it for over a decade and it currently has 172,000+ miles. The best MPG driving to and from work so far is 31, IIRC. It usually averages around 27 mpg in the summer and 24 mpg in the winter. https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/...42842099_n.jpg The wife's 3.0R stealth wagon. These things are FAST!!! Averages around 22 MPG in mixed driving. Like many other noobs I've lurked here for quite a while, just soaking up information. While I don't see myself ever employing extreme hypermiler driving techniques I do make a conscious effort to drive more smoothly and conservatively and I will definitely be making some efficiency and aerodynamic improvements. |

Is that Lincoln fitted with a 302W, right?
|
@MetroMPG: Thanks!
@cripple rooster: Yep, the exact same engine that went into the '92 Mustang GT. |
Have you never considered to retrofit it with a newer, smaller engine, such as the Essex 4.2L V6 out of an F-150?
|
No, but I have considered trading it in on something more efficient. :)

Funny you should say that. I am very attached!

So it might be worthwile to use the car as a base for a fuel-savings oriented project. I guess you have been aware of an Edsel retrofitted with a 2.3L Georgia OHC Turbo...
