Help with bellypan

Yes I've searched....

I'm looking to make a fiberglass belly pan. I know coroplast would be a bit cheaper, but I want to learn how to make things with fiberglass. I figure something I will never see would be perfect.

Things I'm sure about:
It should be flat.
Put aluminum near the exhaust.
It will be in panels running the width of the car for easy removal.

Things I'm not sure about:
Will I need rear diffusers? The profile of my car doesn't seem like there is a big angle change exiting the rear of the car (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/__nK5eqVEjq...2041990004.jpg)
Looking at the profile of my car, I have 'mud flaps' in front of the tires, which some people seem to add to their belly pans. The problem is I've seen some perpendicular, some angle in, and some angle out. Not sure which is the winner. Hell, should I add a boat front (if a boat tail is on the rear a boat front is in front of) the wheels to make the entry easier?

Since I'll be working with fiberglass, basically any shape is obtainable.

I'm just going to throw 3-wheelers threads out here anyway.

Look at the front tire shields on my belly pan (see link in thread) I mounted them the same way the factory did.

mcrews, yours was one of the ones I am planning on copying. From the pics it looks like the angle in....but since you're here, could you confirm? The look like 30 degrees off perpendicular.

2000mc, thanks for the link. 3 wheeler's build looks really good.

What are the overall length and width required? if you're dead set on fiberglass Google Fiberglass Sheets and cut out the shape you need. I'd lay a piece of welding rod along the edge, wrap it with fiberglass cloth and resin it to stiffen it up. Wear gloves.

Alternatively, you could use Polymetal.

The enamel-finished aluminum gives a finish that would require molds and vacuum to produce in fiberglass.
