How do you retire a vehicle?

Pretty much explains itself.

Go to your garage. Select the vehicle and then edit. There is a box to select when setting up the vehicle (status)that has active or retired on the drop down menu.

Donate it to a charity/nonprofit and take the tax deduction.

Drive it to the junkyard at 10 mph with grinding brakes, parts falling off and motor barely running.

Or sell it for what you paid for it after driving it 35k miles, in perfect condition, to a mother of 4 whose husband passed away 4 years ago, when her youngest was 8 years old.

Thanks for the help ;).

follow an old dodder round a corner @15-20mph, try manfully to catch the slide that 'something' breaking caused, end up in a feild seing ground, sky, ground, sky....

In my area, there are three basic ways.

Option 1: Pull it around to the side or back yard. {Putting it up on cinder blocks is an option.} Walk away and ignore it, it just means less grass to mow. :D

Option 2: drag it behind your pickup to the scrap yard. They'll weigh it and give you a per pound amount. {Handy tip, don't empty the trunk first.}

Option 3: Put a free ad in The Swapper to sell it on the cheap. {Don't try to Google search for The Swapper unless you want to get to sites dedicated to sharing your spouse with a stranger :o}

...we "give it away" to a family-member who needs a car...usually a proverbial 'starving student."

I have sold two of my cars and wanted to retire them from the active portion of my garage.
