I'd sure like to hear more about how an 800hp $1M car can get better mileage than a Prius. As if anyone would hypermile it.

Fairly simple.
These cars use their electric system to go as much as possible of the distance of the NEDC fuel consumption test ...

What can't be done on electric power results in the silly amount of gas these cars officially use.

In real life, none of them get anywhere remotely near the quoted figures anyway.

The rare and grossly expensive Volvo V60 plug-in is one of these cheaters.
This is what fuel they really use:
Overview: Volvo - V60 - Spritmonitor.de

You only get those numbers when you don't go much beyond their limited all-electric range.

If Volvo can pull that off, I'm sure Porsche will hit its 3.3L/100km target. Thanks for the confirmation!

I'm not into hybrids, but I might agree the 918 is impressive.

And pioneered the front-wheel drive. Altough Prof. Porsche is often deemed a Nazi collaborator, which is quite an unaccurate statement, the man was ahead of his time.
