If i could get VW XL1 tires:(115/80 R15 front, 145/55 R16 rear)

The VW XL1 has low rolling resistance Michelin tires (115/80 R15 front, 145/55 R16 rear). If i could get a hold of some, Should i do:
A, 115mm front, 145mm back,
B, 145mm front, 115mm back,
C, 145mm all around,
D, 115mm all around,
E, I am crazy,

Please consider that my car is front wheel drive, but the XL1 is rear wheel drive, so it has thicker tires at the rear. If i were to swap thicker tires at the front drive wheels, and narrow at the rear, wouldn't that be unstable in the snow? They say to put newer tires with the most tread at the rear so you don't lose the back in the snow.

I would suppose 145mm tires all around would suffice, but a part of me wants 115mm tires all around for maximum efficiency! Would that be a wise choice?

My car is about 1,930 lbs, the XL1 is 1753 lbs, for a 177 lb difference. The XL1 has lightweight magnesium wheels—the fronts weighing 6.97 lb, the rear 8.18 lb. I would use steel spare tires from a Mini cooper and other unidentified cars. The change in overall diameter from my stock tires should be the same.

If you did not need to use steel rims, you would be that much closer to the weight of the XL1, although the tires would definitely help.

Today visited local VW dealer and they again checked if VW XL1 wheels and tires are found on their parts catalogue and they were. However they were not able to get prices as that model is not sold to Finland.

So if somebody could go in germany dealer and find out what those would cost, I would appreciate much.

Too bad polls don't allow for two answers... D. and E. is the obvious choice.

As long as you're talking crazy, maybe look at wheels intended for drag racing. Weld Magnum Import skinnies run just over 8lbs... 15x3.5 would be a perfect fit to those tires.

What you need are Mazda RX-7 or RX-8 space saver alloy wheels

Or try these guys. They'll even weld on the Dzus mounts so you can fit a real set of moonies.
