If you could collect cars, what would be in your garage?

If you had the means, time, and space to store, what vehicles would be in your garage?
My dream cars have almost never been exotics. For a daily driver, I've always wanted a 1st gen Honda Insight. About 6 months ago that dream finally came true and its now what I daily drive. http://ecomodder.com/forum/attachmen...1&d=1485447307 The next car that I really enjoy is also a little econobox. Its actually my first car, a 1993 Toyota Tercel. I still own it, but its not currently running. It needs a bunch of work and it has a ton of miles at 217k. I'd love the chance to rebuild the oil burning engine, reupholster the interior and get rid of the rust on it. Who else can say they still have their first car? http://ecomodder.com/forum/emgarage-...3da0618ceb.jpg The next vehicle on the list I also currently own! I know, lucky me. Its my second classic that I've ever owned (first was a 1973 Jaguar XJ12 that I let sit too long... RIP beautiful V12 engine). This is a 1951 Ford F1 pickup, and it is sitting tucked away in my garage. I love the body lines on the old pickups. There is nothing like it these days. I picked mine up a couple years ago for a great price. Of course it needs a ton of work and isn't running. Trying to get rid of other projects so I can find time for it. Here are some pics from the day I went to look at it at my buddie's house. http://tercelreference.com/downloads/f1001.jpg http://tercelreference.com/downloads/f1007.jpg http://tercelreference.com/downloads/f1008.jpg The last one that I'd really like to own is one I've kept an eye out for for a long time, but simply don't have the time or garage space for quite yet. Its a summer/fun car that I'd never take out in the salty roads here in Wisconsin (not that I would with the truck). I love the styling on the Nissan 240Z or 280Z. The long front hood with the fast back... beautiful car. Not too pricey either really. Here is a beautiful picture example of a 240Z that one of our users here posted about. He swapped in a 1JZ-GTE Toyota engine, and re-tuned it to run a bit lean for 33.5 mpg and 300hp. I'd absolutely love to go EV with one of these. Super impractical in Wisconsin though with salty roads... http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0094_large.jpg So, post up what you'd like to have in the stable! Make sure to include pictures. |
I test-drove an old Pinzgauer about 10 years ago. It was a ton of fun to drive, and fit in with my love of air-cooled vehicles, but the money went to the down-payment on my first house instead. ;)
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e2...Apinzscott.jpg I wouldn't mind a split-window VW bus, either, while we're dreaming. :) |
I've got my ST185 GT-Four/All-trac,
http://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t51...MjYyNA%3D%3D.2 next is probably something American. I'd always wanted a 70's Camaro http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0003_large.jpg And maybe a Volvo Amazon/122S http://13252-presscdn-0-94.pagely.ne...ee-Quarter.jpg And a Vaz Niva, Probably a old carb'd one http://www.roadsmile.com/images/lada-4x4_key_8.jpg And a lada 1200 wagon: https://i.wheelsage.org/pictures/vaz...0_combi_16.jpg and last, if I can get my hands on one, i'd get this car (guess the brand) http://www.motorstown.com/images/trabant-601-06.jpg |

Admittedly, NOT known as MPG-practical, but the two vehicles I would most like to populate MY garage are both Studebakers!:
1953 Studebaker Starliner http://ecomodder.com/forum/attachmen...1&d=1485451763 1963 Studebaker Avanti http://ecomodder.com/forum/attachmen...1&d=1485451799 |
Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird.
Light Car Company Rocket. Grinnall Scorpion. |
Somebody else apparently likes Stude's too (ha,ha)

Studebakers of the time were designed by Raymond Loewy, and it shows!
I considered getting a grade in Industrial Design because of him. Did computer science instead... but what if? Loewy's designs are worth a thread by themselves. Anyway, I'd like an 80s Honda Integra, http://autos.brick7.nl/media/nl/6330...ba8aff9221.jpg My dad almost bought that instead of the 85 Civic. I could not believe it. The Civic was such a mongrel compared to the Integra, and so much smaller than that and our old Renault 18. It was roomier inside than the Renault though. When my dad let go of the Civic after 7 years he sold it to me and I drove it for another 12 years and spent about one whole year of my life inside that all counted together. Serves me right ;) http://roa.h-cdn.co/assets/15/03/480...9-10_03nsx.jpg Drives like a Civic but for the lower end of the gas pedal trajectory :) http://starmoz.com/images/subaru-impreza-2000-11.jpg Was saving my money for one of these at the time. Never happened, but I got to drive them a lot. That sound! My wife and I shared a dream, for if kids were not going to happen: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3060/...e8a1c3b0bf.jpg But they did, she never rode again and life goes on... Classics, you say: That would be a Traction Avant then... I like FWD in not too powerful cars. http://www.delest.nl/cb-img/46/Citro...11-BL-1953.jpg |

I could go on forever really, but one of these would be among the first:
