Wow, that article is full of great ideas.

That's awesome!

I may just have to have a crack at that- even if its just stealing the motor setup and some drive design and sticking it in a stock shell

When I saw the picture the first thing that came thru my mind was a VW Beetle body slightly modded at the A-pillars and roofline...

NachtRitter 11-19-2013 09:32 PM

Ya, VW Beetle is exactly what came to my mind too.

Maybe either a Karmann-Ghia or a Porsche 356 body replicas wouldn't be bad options too.

Oooh... Karmann-Ghia body on that EV chassis would be sweet!

$15,000 for a sixty-mile range?

It is beautiful!

cRiPpLe_rOoStEr 04-21-2014 06:10 PM

60 miles wouldn't still overcome my range-anxiety, but maybe for a friend of mine it would be enought. Anyway, as a last resource, one could get a towable genset to back it up on a road trip...

Sorry, I don't get it. For half that you can convert a car *with* a body and title and have 60 mile range. This is the expensive and time consuming variety of DIY.
