Alpha Ace, vintage retro style

Rebrand 'soulless' anonymous pods/EVs with some enthusiastic personality from retro-fun styling, reminds of the Alfa 105/115 coupes, Mk 2 Ford Escort or chic Fiat 850 Sports Coupe or more like the wide-bodied Abarth OT 2000! It just tingles all the right retro buttons. The interior is Tesla-like monk minimalist. Would really like to hack with a retro 'brap-brapping' soundtrack.

The California-based Alpha Motor corporation unveiled an electric car concept based on a modular platform similar to ICON Electric Utility Vehicle.

Revealed info/targets; liquid-cooled battery, 250+ mile range, 0-60mph in six seconds. The unique retro styling seats two with some trunk storage and will have retro-feel RWD.

Man, that's hot. And you know what makes the retro concept car work so well in this case? The tires. They gave it some real tires, not little rubber bands wrapped around giant metal. It's a good look on something that does harken back on those widebody 3 box coupes in an interesting twist.

OTOH the aero on those wheel wells is atrocious :-).

But a 2-seater is a hard sell in the US. As much as I'd personally prefer this for a commuter, they should look at extending it a bit and at least making a 2+2 coupe. Not what I want, but what the US will buy...

Also: should they ever make it into production, I can easily see a trademark lawsuit from FCA over the name "Alpha."

Don't worry about FCA and the 'Alpha' name.
There are 2 Formula 1 teams with similar names now; FCA-sponsored Alfa Romeo (run by the Sauber team) and Alpha Tauri, Red Bulls clothing brand, which was Toro Rosso which was Minardi once. Alfa Romeo was the first, but did not object against Alpha Tauri.
I don't think Red Bull minds this use of the Alpha name either.

They have the configurable Alpha (AMP) Automobile Modular Platform. It can be personalized for commercial or personal use; create your choice for multiple-seating or any cargo configurations.

These proposals have not of the charm of the Alpha. They remind me of the Canoo lineup

...which I prefer.

It somewhat also reminds me the Volkswagen SP2 with its square nose and the slantback.
