yeah, this is what confused me, heres my tire difference..
according to my sg2 booklet, it can only go by solid percent numbers.. correct? my tire size is smaller by 1.8% so would I be negative -2% for my setting? |
I've adjusted my SGIIX with the proper percentage and it never differs from that of the speedometer..
Does the SGIIX recalibrate the stock speedometer reading to match what the SG reads now? donno.. |
Chris -
I would use a GPS in comparison to the car's odometer. It won't solve the 1.X % issue, but I think you will have the best possible accuracy. If you don't have a GPS, I'll bet one of your friends does. In terms of inputing the percentage, you can always do a correction in your fuel log. That's what I do for my fuel log : Code:
Fill date Distance Fill amount MPG |

How fast did you go? Did you reach highway speeds? CarloSW2 |
I already do a correction for my fuel log for tire size, i'd like to eliminate that..

I did freeway speeds, but I was dickin around with other aspects of the guage..
dam this things neat.. ;) mounted my SGIIX on my steering column.. The column is contoured so I had this idea to use a piece of wood and a heat gun to fix that contour, but only for where the SGIIX is going... I first pulled the upper column cover off to make sure no wiring was directly underneath.. I put everything back on and went to town on it with a heat gun.. Now it sits right in there with the angle just right at me now... slightly tilted back.. I cleaned the column and SGIIX with alcahol and added some velcro to ease of install.. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...r/P1040585.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...r/P1040587.jpg sexy.. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...r/P1040588.jpg |
Sg will not affect the stock gauges. I've adjusted mine to match the odometer, with a known slight error from reality. Run through a whole tank and see how they match up.

ok, so since I'm a SG n00b, can anyone give me advise for driving with FE in mind to start reaping its benifits..
so many options.. I've been watching my Engine Lod, throttle position, mpg and voltage so far.. |
