Justify supply and demand please?
 

How can "they" justify a higher demand for fuel when NOBODY is going anywhere but to and from work! And several articles relate to consumers driving a Billion... with a B, less miles in March?

Because the U.S. only supplies 30% of your own oil. Thats why saying drilling more oil in the U.S. will lower your gas prices is a sham.

So does that mean that if the US drills LESS, the price will not go up? And that if we drilled 100% of our own oil, the price will still not go down? It seems you are saying total supply does not affect the price.

According to the Wiki link. Drilling in ANWR (the holy grail of the right wing we need to drill more domestic oil movement) will supply 5% of domestic needs for 12 years. U.S. consumption is 20 Mil barrels/day so ANWR is good for 1 Mil. World oil production is ballpark 80 Mil. Drilling in ANWR will increase world supply by 1.25%. What is that going to do for your pump prices?

By the way, the 30% number was off the top of my head, it might be 40% but that still doesnt change anything.

Demand on the us is down, but China/India seem to be increasing demand (or so I've heard).

it matters not where the oil comes from, its gets sold to the highest bidder.

the useage in the U.S. has got to be way down. non-rush hour traffic is noticeably light.

anyone with oil is waiting for the "other guy" to sell his first.

the kicker is there is more fossil fuel than we have oxygen to burn it.
