Kid giving me crap about my Ecomodder shirt
 

I was out getting some more parts for my Talon today and got confronted about my Ecomodder shirt.

Kid's quote.
"Ecomodder what the Hell is that? Do you race Prius's or something?"

I responded... "nope it's about driving techniques and performance mods to improve the vehicles efficiency to save fuel and improve your FE".

Kid "why".

Me "Because Efficiency is the future. Do more with less so to speak".

Kid "That's cool if you like to drive a slow ass Prius's then knock yourself out".

Me "I don't own a Prius I own a 91 Talon that I have been working on for the last five years to be more fuel efficient.

Kid "So you made your Talon slow to get better gas mileage???"

Me "Nope made it faster to get more gas mileage".

Me "Maybe we can race sometime this Summer at our track? What kind of car do you have".

Kid "I don't own a car I have a Dodge Ram Diesel that's got exhaust, chip something, injector something bla bla bla".

Me "Cool then we can race sometime this Summer"???

Kid "Wait is your talon turboed"???

Me "Yes its just a little 13g auto turbo". Then I show a pic.

Me "So you would be willing to put some money on it then".:rolleyes:

Kid "How about a $100.00"???

Me " Naw how about $20.00??? That should be enough for me to fill my next tank".

A brain is a dangerous thing to waste. Sounds like that youngster is on his way to becoming one of Frank Lee's annoying neighbors.

Not surprised that he didn't really understand the concept. A little surprised that he was that rude. Really surprised that he thought even a "stock" Talon was slow. I didn't think he was a total idiot, until that point haha. Swoopy, lightweight car, AWD, and a turbo...man you don't pick on one of those things unless you mean it, everyone knows that! :snail:

Reminds me of the last couple of times punks challenged this old geezer to bicycle drag races. Wasted 'em. Ahhh, the magic of "gears".

For the record he wasn't that much of a A-Hole. He just didn't understand the concept of why would someone would want to save fuel?

He even made sure I wasn't offended and shook my hand with much respect at the end of our conversation.

I just hope he checks out this forum, and we can here from him in person?

The whole thing caught me off guard. When he said "Ecomodder what the Hell does that mean" I thought he was referring to some type of sign in Oreilys or something. lol

Then I realized what shirt i was wearing. lol

Whats crazy is every vehicle that revs up on me in North Idaho is a Diesel truck.

In fact, last Friday I witness a three diesel truck's race getting on the freeway
on-ramp? To Dodges and one Chevy truck. There was so much black smoke I couldn't see for a while. Then they all almost took out a Semi as they merge on to the freeway.

Welcome to North Idaho. Rolling Black coal is the new cool thing.:rolleyes:
